SUMMARY:Soundbath at the Sanctuary | Led by Richard & Jo | External Event Hosted at Burrows Lea
DESCRIPTION:The first soundbath with Richard in April was held in the spring sunshine by the flowing waters of the rill in the gardens of the Sanctuary. The sounds crescendos and silences of gongs and singing bowls were beautiful After a silence at the end we talked a little about our experiences and were offered various instruments that included singing bowls and chimes to play as we gently processed through the bluebells to the labyrinth. When we arrived at the centre we stood in silence focussing on world peace. R \nWhat to bring\, when to arrive \nPeople arrive about 15 minutes before the start of the sound journey and are asked to bring some kind of mat to lie on so they are comfortable. A blanket is also a good idea either to lie on or to lie under in colder months. Easily forgotten is a flask of water ; but if you have neither a flask or mat both are available at the Sanctuary for you to use. \nWhat to expect. \nIn fine weather the soundbath is held in the beautiful grounds and if it is raining inside in the Sanctuary. \nThe whole experience lasts for about two hours and is evolving into a holistic experience that involves. \nListening; To begin with Richard plays gongs and singing bowls and other instruments for about 45 minutes creating waves of sound that are both calming and exhilarating. People generally lie down for this part of the journey but perhaps the more adventurous listeners might choose to move with the sounds. \nSound Creation; After the sounds there is a short break when people can talk about their experiences and impressions and choose an instrument to play. There is no pressure to play if you don’t want to but the creation of sound with the instruments offered needs no former knowledge and is very easy. Just a smile and a spring in your step. Instruments include: Singing-bowls\, chimes\, a rain stick or thunder-tube and other ‘tinklies’ are all available. \nVarious scenarios are evolving that include walking; creating a sonic procession to a site in the woods or the labyrinth or if it is raining moving around in the Sanctuary creating a unique moment of interactive sounds within the HEF Building. \nFinale: Whether we arrive in a woodland glade\, at the centre of the labyrinth or in the building itself. hopefully feeling fully recharged we will end up standing or sitting silently\, breathing together\, sending out our personal heartfelt vibrations into the space we are all in\, and beyond into the world at large. \nwww.soundshine.uk \nPlease note: This is an externally organised event taking place at Burrows Lea. For enquiries\, please contact the event organiser directly.
