What is Spiritual Healing?

Spiritual healing begins with human love & compassion

At the Harry Edwards Foundation, spiritual healing is not seen as something mysterious or reserved for a gifted few. Harry Edwards himself taught that healing is a natural human capacity — something that becomes available when we quieten the mind, open the heart, and allow a deeper intelligence to work through us.

He called this deeper intelligence the Supreme Intelligence —
an intelligence greater than human wisdom, yet profoundly loving, purposeful, and ordered.

As Harry Edwards said:

“With the healing of the incurable, an intelligence superior to human wisdom enters into the picture — an intelligence that knows the way to human wisdom.”

To understand spiritual healing, we begin not outside ourselves, but within.

Inside each of us is an unseen healing intelligence.
You cannot see it — yet it has cared for you since your very first breath and will remain with you until your last.

This healing intelligence coordinates your entire system.
Your heart beats.
Your lungs breathe.
Your immune system responds.
Your body heals wounds, grows hair and nails, mobilizes defences — all without your conscious instruction.

Its sole purpose is to protect you, restore balance, and sustain life.

This intelligence speaks through sensation — through comfort and ease, but also through pain, fatigue, anxiety, or unease when something is out of alignment.

It is always communicating with you.
It is always working in your best interests.

Now imagine this.

What if, through stillness and awareness, we could consciously attune to another intelligence beyond the thinking mind — the Supreme Intelligence Harry Edwards spoke of — and allow it to work in harmony with your own healing intelligence?

What might be possible if these two intelligences were allowed to meet?

This is the essence of spiritual healing.

The healer does not give their personal energy.
They do not impose their will.
They become a conduit — a clear, receptive channel — allowing higher vibrational intelligence to flow through them and connect with the client’s own healing intelligence.

From this connection, the nervous system may calm.
Emotional burdens may soften.
A sense of peace, clarity, or relief may emerge.
And sometimes, the body responds physically as well.

Harry Edwards often spoke of energy as light.

He said:

“You have to believe in energy. Take the idea of energy existing first and foremost. From the concept of energy as light, you can bring forward the light and direct the light towards another whose light has become dim.”

We already accept the existence of unseen energies in everyday life — sound waves, radio waves, electromagnetic fields. We cannot see them, yet we experience their effects.

Spiritual healing simply invites us to become aware of another form of energy — subtler, gentler, yet deeply intelligent.

Stillness is where this awareness begins.
And stillness is where it always returns.

In stillness, we listen.
In stillness, we attune.
In stillness, the connection between the healing intelligence within us and the Supreme Intelligence beyond us becomes possible.

As Harry Edwards said:

“The journey was always about the awareness of the light.
The connecting of the light is a spiritual journey.”

Spiritual healing is not about belief.
It is not about proving anything to anyone.

It is about experience.

It is about becoming more human.
More present.
More compassionate.
More aware of the unseen forces that support life itself.

And from that awareness, healing — in its many forms — naturally unfolds.
