What is Distant Healing?

Distant Healing, sometimes called Absent Healing, is a form of spiritual healing offered when someone can’t visit us in person. Our trained healers focus their intention on the person, people or animals named in your request and ask for healing on their behalf.

  • They or a loved one is unwell, in pain or recovering
  • They are facing a difficult time emotionally or mentally
  • A pet or animal companion needs support
  • They live far away, or can’t easily travel to the Sanctuary
  • They simply want to know someone is thinking of them

Frequently Asked Questions About Distant Healing

What is Distant Spiritual Healing?

Distant Spiritual Healing, also known as Absent Healing, is a form of spiritual healing offered when someone cannot attend a healing session in person. At the Harry Edwards Foundation, our healers hold the person or animal named in your request in healing thought, wherever they may be in the world.

Distant healing is based on the belief that spiritual healing can be offered without the healer and recipient being in the same place. Our healers focus their intention on the person or animal named in your request as part of our 30-day Distant Healing List.

No. One of the benefits of distant healing is that you do not need to be physically present or travel to the Harry Edwards Foundation. You can request healing for yourself or someone else, wherever they are in the world.

Yes. Many requests come from friends and family. Where you can, it’s kind to let the person know you’ve asked for healing on their behalf.

Of course. Animals are very welcome. Please include their name and a little about what they’re experiencing.

In-person and online appointments involve time with a healer. Distant healing is offered remotely, without an appointment. If you’d prefer one-to-one time, you can book a healing appointment.

Everyone’s experience is different. Some people describe feeling peaceful, relaxed or comforted, while others may not notice any particular sensation. There is no specific experience you need to have for your request to be included on the Distant Healing List.
