Community Outreach
Open sanctuary gardens and woodlands for healing, connection, and well-being—free to all.
Community Engagement at The Harry Edwards Foundation
At The Harry Edwards Foundation, we are dedicated to promoting healing, connection, and well-being for all. Our sanctuary, set across several acres of peaceful gardens and woodlands, offers a serene space for rebalancing, grounding, and enjoyment that we take great pride in sharing with the local community. Our gardens and sanctuary are open to the public free of charge, providing an opportunity for everyone to experience the healing power of nature.
Outreach Program
The Foundation will launch community projects focusing on Disability, Physical & Mental Health, and Inclusion, partnering with local charities and organizations to host collaborative events and workshops.
Universal Support
The program aims to support individuals facing various challenges including disability, grief, stress, health issues, and isolation, creating accessible spaces where people from all backgrounds can come together regardless of age, ability, race, gender, sexual orientation, or religion.
Free Access
All events and workshops will be provided at no cost to participants, with funding obtained through grants and donations from the broader community to ensure financial barriers don’t prevent participation.
Our Disability & Inclusion Ambassador: Nick Walewski
We are proud to have Nick Walewski as our Community Outreach Ambassador, focusing on disability and inclusion. Born with Spastic Quadriplegia Cerebral Palsy and a wheelchair user from birth, Nick has never let his disability define him. He is an avid performer, comedian, and DJ, with a radio show that reaches over half a million listeners. His positivity, energy, and dedication to breaking down barriers for people with disabilities have made him an invaluable part of our team. Nick’s work with us will ensure that our projects are inclusive and accessible, with a particular focus on addressing the needs of people with disabilities.
Collaborating with the Local Probation Service
As part of our commitment to supporting rehabilitation and community well-being, we will be working closely with the local probationary service on horticultural projects. This initiative will provide individuals in rehabilitation with the opportunity to engage in meaningful work through horticulture, offering both therapeutic benefits and a chance to contribute positively to the local community.
Accessibility Plans for the Future
In collaboration with Nick Walewski, we are in the process of planning and fundraising for a wheelchair-accessible woodland path. This path will be open to the public, providing a beautiful and accessible outdoor space for individuals with disabilities to enjoy the healing benefits of nature. We are excited to make this space available to everyone and ensure that all members of our community can experience the tranquility of our sanctuary.
