This 6 week Mindful Nordic Walking course offers a gentle, supportive way to move, build strength and restore balance through regular time spent outdoors.
Led in the peaceful surroundings of the Sanctuary grounds, the course blends Nordic walking technique with a mindful pace and an appreciation of the natural environment. Over time, participants are guided to gradually develop confidence, stamina and coordination, while enjoying the restorative benefits of being immersed in nature.
The sessions are designed to support both physical fitness and mental wellbeing. As technique and endurance build, many people find that the regular rhythm of walking outdoors helps to create a greater sense of balance, clarity and calm that carries into everyday life.
By the end of the course, participants are supported in working towards a personal walking goal that feels right for them, celebrating the progress and confidence gained over the six weeks. Participants who complete the course will receive a completion certificate to acknowledge their journey.
A gentle commitment to yourself
This 6 week course invites you to make a simple weekly commitment to yourself, offering time, space and gentle guidance to build confidence in walking while enjoying the restorative surroundings of the Sanctuary.
What is Nordic Walking?
Nordic walking uses specially designed poles to support posture and encourage a natural, fluid walking style. Practised mindfully, it becomes a whole-body movement that feels supportive rather than demanding.
The poles help to:
