Come and experience the calm beauty of Burrows Lea Country House and Gardens

Welcome to Burrows Lea Country House and Gardens

Harry Edwards decided upon Burrows Lea Country House in 1946 and it has remained a sanctuary for those seeking healing, clarity, and inner peace ever since. It is home to the Harry Edwards Foundation.

Nestled in the heart of the Surrey Hills, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, just outside the quaint village of Shere and a 15 minutes drive from Guildford town centre.

Burrows lea Country House has been a place of transformation and a profound sense of calm for many of its visitors, and to many more to come.

Visiting the Grounds and Gardens

Step into 30 acres of peaceful gardens, ancient woodland, and stunning countryside views.

You’re warmly welcome to wander through the grounds at your leisure, any time. Whether you’re here for a moment of calm or simply curious, the beauty of nature here is open to all.

Why not book a healing session first, then take time to reflect in the garden—perhaps among the roses or beneath the majestic old oaks? Pause and take in the view, watch the horses and cows grazing peacefully, or spot the distant planes as they come in to land at Gatwick.

We’d love for you to visit and experience the calming atmosphere of our special home.

Visiting the Country House

Burrows Lea is a country house, designed by Frederick Pepys in 1873.

The traditional house provided a peaceful setting for healing work and activities. Harry Edwards collected many items during his lifetime and much of this history is on display around the house.

The house it not available for casual walk arounds, but you are welcome to ask for a tour of the house with one of our guides.
