Being in silence with others can be challenging and feel awkward, however it can also be surprisingly rewarding and support an improved sense of connectedness.

A range of contemplative exercises and practices will be developed over the weekend in the exploration of silence and tranquillity. This will be an opportunity to put into practice specific techniques to benefit your physical, mental, emotional and spiritual wellbeing. It will enable you to develop and deepen your own silent practice and gain a better understanding of the barriers to silence in your own life. This led retreat is non-religious with activities influenced by a range of philosophies including compassionate meditation and mindfulness.

Whether you are a seasoned practitioner of silence or a complete beginner, this 2-day led retreat is an opportunity to spend an extended period of time in silence and self-reflection in a structured process, to enrich your life and bring renewed focus. Being in silence with others can be challenging and feel awkward, however it can also be surprisingly rewarding and support an improved sense of connectedness. 

 

Retreat Format

The retreat will run from 10am on Saturday through to 4pm on Sunday. It will include small group sessions as well as personal time for individual activity, time in nature and for self-reflection. The retreat will be in silence from late morning on day 1 through to mid-afternoon on day 2, including meal times and group activities, such as silent walking and nature connection. If you feel uncomfortable in the silence there will be time available with the facilitator.  

 

Lunch and supper are included on the first day with breakfast and lunch provided on the second day, including refreshments throughout the day.

Overnight accommodation included on the Saturday night.
