Holistic Therapies

Holistic therapies are at the very heart of what we offer at Harry Edwards Foundation.

Holistic Therapies

Healing

Healing has similar outcomes to mindfulness and can improve physical, emotional and mental wellbeing. The purpose is to channel a calming and balancing energy for clients to use as they need. This practice increases connection with self and in turn, capacity for self healing. Healing sessions can help people cope with all sorts of challenges, from ill health and trauma to stress and anxiety.

Distant healing

If you are unable to visit Burrows Lea, we welcome you to our ever-growing online community of friends. You may like to try our distant healing service. We have always offered distant healing to anyone who has need of it. Requests for distant healing for yourself, a loved one or an animal may be made by letter, email or via our website and your message will be read by our healing team.

Animal healing

The Harry Edwards Foundation has always had a close affinity with animals, who are very welcome at Burrows Lea. In times gone by people used to walk their horses up the drive for healing sessions and, although we mainly treat dogs now, we still see all sorts of pets on our special animal days. Animals are able to overcome many physical problems but sometimes a little extra help is needed. By channelling the healing energy of the world around us, the therapy supports your pets when they need it most.

Holistic Therapies

Holistic therapies are at the very heart of what we offer at Burrows Lea, and who we are. We believe in healing in all forms and for everyone.

Meditation

Meditation, often thought of as a path to self-awareness and compassion, can also be a path to better health. Although thousands of years old, people use meditation today to cope with the stress and worry that the modern world can bring. It can calm anxiety and provide insight and clarity, even in difficult situations.

Sound bath

A sound bath is a therapeutic and meditative experience where you are surrounded by the sounds and vibrations produced by different instruments such as gongs, tuning forks, and crystal bowls. These sounds and vibrations help your mind to enter a meditative and relaxed state bringing healing at mental, emotional, and physical levels. Physiological benefits can include pain reduction, strengthened immune systems and improved sleep as well as reduced anxiety levels.

Tai Chi

This gentle form of exercise can help maintain strength, flexibility, and balance, and can be practised at any stage of life. Evidence suggests that this mind-body practice can help treat or prevent many health problems. Tai chi can be easily adapted for anyone at any stage of their health and fitness journey, from physically fit to those confined to wheelchairs or recovering from surgery.

Yoga

The purpose of yoga is to build strength, awareness and harmony in both the mind and body. While there are many different types of yoga, most sessions typically include breathing exercises, meditation, and assuming postures (sometimes called asana or poses) that stretch and flex various muscle groups.
